Business Development Manager – SEA Consulting

Social Enterprises Associates (SEA) Consulting was established in 2013 as the consulting firm of UnLtd Tamil Nadu. We are a social impact consultancy firm based in Auroville, South India, an international think tank for innovation and social change. We provide a resource of social expertise for the development of projects that are committed to social sustainability. As Business Development Manager, you will be working with the CEO to:

  • Assist in setting the priorities for income generation
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of new opportunities
  • Oversee projects and ensure that they are completed on time and to budget
  • Ensure that assignments’ objectives, specific goals, and metrics are established
  • Assist in the selection of part-time consultants
  • Manage the pool of part-trime consultants
  • Select and update process improvement methodologies and tools
  • Provide guidance and support to consultants throughout the entire consulting process
  • Communicate key lessons learned and best practices
  • Work as a consultant on assignments (20% time allocation)

 

Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as Business Development professional
  • Comprehensive business knowledge (organization structure, business functions, processes, procedures, objectives, goals, metrics, internal self-assessment processes, etc.)
  • Project leader experience
  • Experience in successfully applying quality management, process improvement, and problem-solving tools and methodologies
  • Experience in selecting and contracting with outside consultants
  • Experience as a consultant

Volunteer – Marketing & Communications (September 2016-February 2017)

The MARCOM Volunteer will follow up on the work conducted by our MARCOM Manager while she is out of station. We will ensure a proper handover for the volunteer to implement the marketing & communications strategy for the organization. This person will lead all activities related to advertising, online marketing, brand development and PR. They will be responsible for conceptualizing campaigns for UnLtd TN and our fellows, including creating media content (videos & images). They will also work towards increasing our online presence across social media platforms and maintain the website.

Responsibilities

  • Build brand awareness through engagements with social media platforms and other marketing platforms (Print, Radio, TV, Events, etc.).
  • Develop excellent communication material for UTN and our fellows. Conceptualize and create marketing material or collaborate with photographers and videographers to create high quality material.
  • Manage the UTN website and all social media channels.
  • Proactively seek media and publicity opportunities, develop relations with local and national media for UTN.
  • Conceptualise and execute campaigns for UTN and our investees, to support fundraising and awareness programs.
  • Document UTN and fellow impact to showcase at appropriate avenues.
  • Conduct market research and use data for targeted marketing.
  • Create a network of supporters through online media activities and build a community of changemakers& innovators across Tamil Nadu

Required skills and experience

  • Graduate/Post-graduate/pursuing graduation in communications/journalism/marketing
  • Understanding of digital and social media marketing techniques
  • Design software, photography, videography and video editing skills an advantage
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative skills to produce high quality content with limited resources
  • Multi-tasking ability and time management skills to deliver multiple projects within tight deadlines
  • Good research and data analysis skills
  • Ability to make critical and strategic decisions under pressure
